The Circuit Civil Department handles all cases involving monetary judgments, declaratory judgments, mortgage foreclosures, negligence and professional malpractice cases.

Cases are filed in Small Claims Court when amount of claim is $8,000 or less, County Civil Court when $8000 but less than $30,000 and Circuit Civil Court when amount is $30,000 or more. Tenant eviction packages are available in Room 105 of the Highlands County Courthouse (Landlord/Property Manager/Eviction with Damages) – Packets are $15.00 each. Landlord/Tenant dispute forms can also be filled out using TurboCourt. Please check our Helpful Links page for more assistance.

Clerk staff is only able to provide minimal assistance under current laws and Court rules when filing in County Civil or Circuit Civil.

The child support office is located in Room 109 at the Highlands County Courthouse. Payments can be made at AMSCOT, MONEY GRAM, online at www.myfloridacounty.com or mailed in to FLSDU at P.O. Box 8500 Tallahassee, FL 32314.
